I hold a Master's Degree in Community and Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Massachusetts and an undergraduate degree in both Religious Education and Psychology from Eastern Nazarene College. I subsequently attended the William Carey International University in Pasadena, California to study international communications. I earned a National Certificate through the National Academy of Certified Care Managers.
Traveling abroad for over six months and living on a Kibbutz in Israel gave me rich experience in life skills and in understanding many diverse cultures.
My hobbies include but not limited to, music, gardening, golf, photography, performing arts.
Contributions to the Community:
- Wrote a grant which funded an adult day care center in Boston through the Older American's Act
- Developed an outreach program for inner city elders through a partnership with the Mental Health Community and the Salvation Army.
- While my daughters were growing up and involved in girl scouts and church youth programs, I was active in encouraging intergenerational activities and organized special projects for these groups in nursing homes.
- Served as treasurer for the Florida Geriatric Care Manager's Assoc.
- Chairperson of Local Unit Development
- Committee Member of the Florida Geriatric Care Managers Association Executive Council and Board of Directors and served as President elect in the year 2000 and 2001.
- Serve on the Technology Committee for the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers Association

- Florida Coalition for Optimal Mental Health and Aging
- Area Agency on Aging, Better Living for Seniors
